Ingredients
- 2 litres apple cider or apple juice
- 80 ml maple syrup (or honey)
- 4 sticks of cinnamon
- 12 whole cloves
- 4 whole allspice berries
- 1/4 tbsp caradmom seeds
- 200 ml whisky, we used The Cheshire
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp orange extract
- 1 large apple (for garnish if you'd like)
Instructions
- Add the apple cider or apple juice and syrup to a large saucepan. Heat over medium-high heat. Add in the vanilla extract.
- Then add in the orange extract, cinnamon sticks, cloves and allspice berries and cardamom seeds. Stir to combine - bring to a boil for a second and then reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for about 30 mins.
- Strain mulled cider through a sieve. Add in the whiskey, stir to combine. Serve with a fresh apple slice or a cinnamon stick.
